Colosseum Codex: World's Fair Product Directory, Offchain Message Signing

🎡 Crypto World's Fair Product Directory

Colosseum published the product directory for the Crypto World's Fair hackathon, with all 2,973 submissions open to browse. That makes it Colosseum's biggest hackathon ever and the largest in crypto history.

Projects can be searched by name and filtered by chain, category, and country. The directory holds every product submitted to a Colosseum hackathon and the full list also exports to Excel.

Winners will be announced in four to five weeks, along with the startups joining Colosseum's next accelerator cohort.

✍️ Offchain Message Signing

Offchain message signing (OCMS) is now live on Solana, letting hardware wallet users sign in to apps without the "Using a hardware wallet?" checkbox. Until now, apps verified that a hardware wallet user controlled their wallet by having them sign a dummy transaction that does nothing.

With OCMS, the app hands a human-readable message to the wallet, and the wallet passes it to the hardware device. The user reads the actual text on the device screen before approving, and the same sign-in button works for every wallet.

Apps can also use OCMS to record that a user accepted terms, link a wallet to an existing account, or authorize an action that happens off-chain.

The release includes the offchain message spec v1 (sRFC 38), a new solana:signOffchainMessage Wallet Standard feature, and Sign In With Solana 1.1, which adds a useOffchainMessage option to signIn. The existing signMessage is unchanged, so OCMS is opt-in.

Support is live today in Solflare, Jupiter Wallet, Salmon, Backpack, Ledger, and Trezor. The docs and a Wallet Adapter v3 sample app cover the integration.

Solana Apps Can Now Support Sign-In with Hardware Wallets with Off-Chain Message Signing

⚙️ Tools & Resources

A Rust bot that keeps your Solana loans from getting liquidated
Every time the price moves against your leveraged lending position, it drifts closer to liquidation. BorrowGuard holds Kamino and Jupiter Lend positions at a target leverage by rebalancing with a flash loan in one transaction from your own wallet, and it's fork-tested but hasn't been run with real money yet.

A from-scratch sBPF disassembler written in C
Reading a compiled Solana program at the byte level means piecing together ELF sections and sBPF opcodes by hand. dbg parses a program's .so file and disassembles every sBPF v0/v1 instruction to match Solana's llvm-objdump output exactly, as the first step toward a source-level debugger that shows the failing Rust line and its compute-unit cost.

Surfpool v1.7.0 blocks direct sysvar overrides
If your tests call surfnet_setAccount to overwrite the Clock, SlotHashes, RecentBlockhashes, EpochSchedule, or LastRestartSlot sysvars, they'll fail on v1.7.0, which now rejects those writes. The release also adds a --genesis-hash CLI flag, applies mainnet rent rates, and initializes required extensions on generated Token-2022 ATAs.

🚨 Solflare security incident at its staking provider - The provider reported that keys it held for the old Solflare validator were affected, and Solflare says no user funds were touched and it will cover rewards missed during the pause for users who move their stake to the new validator.

💀 Samui winds down its open-source wallet for Solana builders - The wallet and toolbox won the Public Good Award at the Cypherpunk hackathon, and its GitHub repo is now archived.

🚚 Akash proposes moving its network to Solana - Under the plan, AKT would become a native Solana token and the compute marketplace would be rebuilt as Solana programs, with the old Cosmos chain halting 90 days after a cutover that has no date yet.

Generation Infinity

Brennan Watt, CEO of Anza, talks about what comes after Solana's largest upgrade, with the network now targeting 150ms transaction finality.

He covers Anza's work on faster block distribution, more transaction capacity, and geographically aware consensus to cut latency across Solana's global validator network. The conversation also gets into how near-instant settlement, micropayments, and autonomous AI agents could change financial markets.

Watt argues the window for launching new Layer 1 networks is narrowing, because technology can be copied but established users, onchain assets, and economic activity can't.

What comes after the largest upgrade in Solana history?
