Announcing the Solana Cypherpunk Hackathon
Start building the next cypherpunk-inspired startup and compete in the Solana Foundation hackathon, powered by Colosseum!

We are excited to release all of the details regarding Solana's Cypherpunk Hackathon! The global competition will be powered through Colosseum’s online platform and runs from September 25 through October 30, 2025.

As with previous Colosseum hackathons, participants will compete for prizes, pre-seed funding, and acceptance into Colosseum's accelerator program. Colosseum's venture fund will be deploying over $2.5 million in capital to select winners. Visit the official website for more information and sign up for the hackathon today!

Colosseum’s hackathons are not structured like traditional hackathons. They are intensive engineering and business sprints where elite developers vie for prizes and pre-seed funding across the following categories:

  • The Grand Champion, presented by Phantom, will receive $30,000 in USDC-SPL
  • Five prizes ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 USDC in each of the tracks:
  • The University Award, a $10,000 USDC prize presented to the best student team.
  • The Public Goods Award, a $10,000 USDC prize presented to the team that creates open-source technology that benefits the entire ecosystem.

All hackathon prize winners will be interviewed and evaluated for Colosseum’s accelerator. Up to 15 winners will be accepted into the program, and each will receive $250,000 in pre-seed funding, access to an exclusive mentorship network, private Colosseum platform features, IRL support in Colosseum's San Francisco office, and more. Colosseum will also host a Demo Day where accelerator teams will have the opportunity to pitch the leading VCs in crypto.

To set yourself and your team up for success, we highly encourage all builders to join the hackathon livestream workshops and review our post on How to Win a Colosseum Hackathon. The guide covers how to approach team formation, product ideation, prioritization/execution, project submission, and other key factors in excelling in our competition.

Godspeed to all hackathon participants!
